Sahara chronic
The betrayal of the Sahrawi people Felipe González, answered by Mariem Hassan
Tuesday, January 25, 2011 16:54 by the hapless and illegal Madrid Agreements, drafted by the last government of the Franco dictatorship and signed on November 14, 1975 in the palace of La Zarzuela.
The second, and perhaps even immoral, was led by the PSOE leader, Felipe Gonzalez Marquez, failure, forgetfulness and reversal of the word to the Saharawi people and their legitimate representative, the Polisario Front, in the refugee camps in Tindouf exile on 14 November 1976, exactly one year after the signing of the Madrid Accords.
We can never remove from our minds and our hearts, our anger and our shame unlimited that image - immortalized by the cameras and sound recording of his words - the socialist leader Felipe González, fist raised in a modest gallery in the desert, haranguing the Saharawi people and the Frente Polisario refugee camps Tindouf, the day marked the first anniversary of these heinous and illegal agreements, rigged on the backs of all the English people (who were also members themselves Sahrawi, remember) and that gave the Saharawi people (even then part of the English people) to his worst enemy, a murderer and cruel regime, despotic and reactionary.
University City Madrid - iconic symbol for Spain, would be very soon, during the Transition, privileged place for meetings of the PSOE, with their leaders on the stand trying to get thousands of votes excited, drowned in a sea of \u200b\u200bPolisario flags filled the entire while the air rang with the cries of a huge crowd: "Long live the struggle of the Saharawi people!", "Polisario expire !"...
No, we never deviate from our retinas and our hearts that vision, those years of rising popular consciousness of democratic citizenship, those immense desire for participation and freedom, and Lluis Raimon Llac to the head. What was then sold us as "exemplary" Transition (and authors like Joan E. Garcés, José Vidal-Beneyto, English Martínez, Vicenç Navarro, Yolanda Sobero, Julian Delgado, Jesus Palacios, Eduardo Soto-Trillo or recently deceased Labordeta Paco recalled that it was not so ... "exemplary" or much less).
Then came the betrayal, silence, blatant lie, systematic poisoning and cynicism of the network known as pro-Moroccan lobby, executor of the strategy and the diktat of Makhzen, his aides Gauls, the CIA and other family. And those pressures succumbed Felipe Gonzalez, Alfonso Guerra and, ultimately, the entire apparatus of the PSOE, which, seen seen and heard the ear (Rodríguez Zapatero, Moratinos, Trinidad Jiménez, Rubalcaba, Ramon Jauregui ...), was abandoned by the road promises, obligations, responsibilities, principles, socialism, shame, and what was left of dignity on the basis of Party.
Was that the "supply" (read "threat") of the CIA and the Department of State of the Empire: Driving to the party to power, "fit" the Franco Monarchy in Transition, in exchange for giving the Sahara to Morocco and condemn the Saharawi people to a painful and miserable existence aimed at its extinction? There are increasingly more documents confirming how these issues were addressed coldly at the White House, Paris, Rabat, Madrid, Zarzuela and elsewhere (Jacob Mundy, Kissinger interview Bouteflika Wikileaks).
All this and more is what leads Mariem Hassan in his gut, in your mouth, large eyes, with their cry torn, brave, prosecutor, irrefutable. He exploded in the womb every day, every hour, every second of every day. Until he decided to get rid of that pain once, giving birth so much bitterness, put his own cry and the music and make the world know at least that historic betrayal of man in which the Saharawi people (who became part English Village) one day thought, as the English also believed naive. Felipe Gonzalez never revealed the reasons? that abandonment of the Saharawi people in the hands of his worst enemy. But the betrayal of their own words and promises (see below the text of his speech) will remain forever in the annals of history and tour the world in the mouth of the Saharawi singer Mariem Hassan and distributing his latest CD entitled precisely "Shouka" ("The Thorn"). Mariem
impressive. I met her, I heard and was impressed. His voice got a majestic end to the conference organized on Western Sahara and for all, all!, The public universities of Madrid (Days both the mainstream press was busy hiding the public, despite the presence in them of people like Winnie Mandela, Stephen Zunes, Bastagli, Ahmed Bukhari or prominent members of the Government of the Saharawi Republic, SADR). Mariem impassive. It is noted that in her womb all the pain of his people. Nearly special features not seen on his face, as big as his body, his gaze toward the bottom, her large eyes dry and so much pain ("I drank the blood of my three brothers dead ")... But when she opens her mouth and begins his questioning to Felipe Gonzalez, a terrible scream invades the room, freezing staff, contaminated, it becomes collective challenge the audience and Felipe Gonzalez is set for trial ever before in history. And despite the broken promises and false FG, despite his foul treachery, the Saharawi people continue to fight bravely for their freedom, until the final victory path in which the PSOE, Felipe said that - should accompany .
That's "The Thorn" Mariem Hassan, inside you, stuck, so many years - she and her people - and the urgent need to remove it once and for all of that betrayal speaking world (although for me, the betrayal of FG and PSOE, more than a thorn was, and remains, a huge broadsword poisoned, with the worst one known poison).
"Shouka" ("The Thorn") lends its name to the title of a recent album of Mariem Hassan, moreover, contains fifteen other musical works, to which best-of Saharawi singer is impeccable. The CD was produced by Manuel Domínguez for "Nubenegra (www.nubenegra.com, Nubenegra [at] nubenegra.com).
Shouka is a very special form of cantata, every paragraph of the speech of Felipe Gonzalez in the Tindouf refugee camps - in November 1976, a year after the Madrid Agreement and the Moroccan invasion - with original voice of FG Castilian recorded audio (thanks to RASD-TV, www.rasd-tv.com) is answered by Mariem Hassan (esto es, del pueblo saharaui) en hassanía, la lengua materna de los saharauis.
Aerated from the website of the Saharawi television acts as a magnet that you go over and over again in disbelief so much cynicism. Mariem Hassan had the courage to boot, with their own teeth, the heart of the Sahara, and spit into the wind. Is now tighten the wound oozing pus all nauseous. The damage is irreparable, but it can feel a little better. "
That said, let's talk Mariem Hassan, in his reply to Felipe González. This is the text of Shouk:
FELIPE GONZALEZ: We wanted to be here today November 14, 1976, to demonstrate by our presence, our rejection and our disapproval of the agreement of Madrid, 1975.
Mariem Hassan: González, I listened with great respect and affection. And we open with sympathy the doors of our tents.
FG: The Saharawi people will conquer their struggle. Will win, not only because it is right, but because it has the will to fight for their freedom.
MH: You, lawyer, silver-tongued leader of a large party, you worship, but sometimes your speech is very hurtful.
FG: I want you to know that most of the English people, the most noble English people, is in solidarity with your struggle.
MH: One people, my people, offered his life in search of freedom. I drank the blood of my three brothers fighting the murder weapons.
FG: For us it is no longer the right of self-determination, but to accompany you in your struggle until final victory.
MH: I think you have forgotten, or is your memory that does not remember those promises you made to my people, with reason to guide your speech? Before becoming president leading the struggle of a generation. Now I've closed the door to my people, breaking your promises.
FG: As part of the English people, we feel ashamed that the Government has not only made a bad settlement, but a worse decolonization, delivering in the hands of reactionary governments like those of Morocco and Mauritania.
MH: The respect you gave at the time that my people, today has not, it is impossible. You've become a lackey of the cowardly invaders.
FG: But you must know that our people also struggle with the government that left it, the Saharawi people, reactionary governments.
MH: Do not pretend to be confused with your ideas servile, the English libertarian and seeks to distinguish between justice and expediency, between good and evil.
FG: As our town is about freedom, the greater and more effective support we can give to your struggle.
M. H.: You got your victory with your eloquent speech, but doubted sell arms to Morocco. And you'd rather not remember, keep wandering into the goal.
FG: The party is convinced that the Polisario Front is the right guide to the Final Victory of the Saharawi people and is also convinced that your independent and democratic republic will be consolidated on your people and you can return to your homes.
MH: Your words are gone with the wind, but the Saharawi people do not give up their rights and pays the price in blood. It is a courageous people that stays in the fight. It's small, but very careful, your will is great.
FG: We know that your experience is to have received many promises never fulfilled. I will, therefore, do not promise you anything, but to compromise with history. Our party will be with you until the final victory.
MH: Did you forget history, someone who does not forgive. Remember what happened, although there is no remedy. Felipe, hear what I sing and I say: I really thought and failed to complete. Look
the spine is hidden from rose petals. Oh, Philip! Felipe!
and its venom is deadly.
But just read the lyrics of "Shouka." We must listen to the album. And if possible a live performance, much better. Put the meat chicken! It is a beautiful and powerful fighting tool.
to the final victory, Mariem! Long live the struggle of the Saharawi people!
